Your city’s churches must be working together in a spirit of humility, collaborating through an official or unofficial network focused on reaching the unchurched together.

This investment fuels a united effort to reach every household in your city with Christ’s love. So, the citywide church will be asked to contribute matching funds equal to the grant amount, ensuring shared ownership in the mission.
Practically, this means your city will only have to raise the nonprofit postage cost!

What does the CityReach Matching Grant cover?
Receiving a CityReach Matching Grant is more than receiving dollars, it’s gaining a partner in reaching your city for Christ.
- The awarded citywide church will receive up to $25,000 dollars to substantially cover getting a personal invitation to a Christ-centered church in the hands of every person in their area.
- The complete cost of sending a personal invitation to every household in a city is $.22/ea. ($.11 of that accounting for nonprofit postage). At this cost, the Grant would allow a network to reach over 225,000 households for just the cost of postage!
- Each oversized postcard will have a smart link to a citywide church landing page for recipients to view a comprehensive map of churches near them (including a live link to the church’s website and an option to communicate via text with the network or individual church).
- Using Informed Delivery, all households will also receive an email on top of the physical invitation!
In addition, all participating churches will gain access to the following resources:
- A coaching call to help equip their church to welcome, retain and disciple new guests.
- Free church kits and resources to continue the discipleship of new and growing Christians.
- Access to a church-leaders webpage for collaboration and encouragement along the way.
- Access to a comprehensive church communication software ideal for ensuring no one falls through the cracks.
How long is the review process?
Upon receipt of your application, you will receive a confirmation email and can expect to hear back within fourteen business days to set up a further exploratory meeting. Once our team connects with you, a decision will be made and you’ll be notified.
Can we use the funds anywhere we need?
While we know there are so many powerful and creative gospel initiatives, the CityReach Matching Grant funds are designed to pay for an invitation to be delivered to every household in a city/region, welcoming the recipient to a Christ-centered church.
What if we can't raise the necessary matching funds?
In the event that your church network is unable to provide the necessary matching funds within the agreed-upon timeline, the CityReach team will help you adjust your timeline, coach you in your fundraising efforts, and get you back on track to executing an excellent citywide evangelism campaign.
Can a single or multi-site church apply individually?
A single church or multi-site church cannot apply alone. However, if no network exists in a church’s city, multi-site or evangelism-focused churches often play a key role in fostering collaboration, and the CityReach Matching Grant can help accelerate the process of uniting the citywide church.

How far in advance do we need to plan our campaign?
We’ve seen church networks reach their goals when they allow a 4-6 month runway from the time they apply to the time they launch their evangelism campaign

Will the grant be awarded in cash?
The funds will not be disbursed to the recipients but will be applied to your final order statement with Outreach Inc.– our campaign partner.
What if our city isn't ready for a large-scale, unified campaign, but we desire to reach our city?
